We have been informed by Evergy that there is required maintenance needed in our substation. To conduct this maintenance, a brief outage for Odessa utility customers will be necessary. The outage will take place at night beginning the evening of Monday, September 6, at approximately 11:45 pm. The power should be restored within three hours (by 2:30 am) barring any unforeseen issues. The City will also be performing maintenance in our own substation in order to maximize this outage. We have scheduled the full electric crew for this event so we can have two teams working to complete our maintenance during the Evergy outage. We are not expecting to be down any longer than Evergy needs, but in the event that issues arise, we will make every effort to complete the necessary repairs as quickly as possible and not exceed an outage past 4:00 am. Please plan ahead for this outage regarding electronics, medical needs, etc.
