What Utilities does the City of Odessa own and operate?

The City of Odessa owns and operates the electric, water and wastewater utilities in the city limits of Odessa, Missouri.

Who do I call in the case of a utility emergency?

During regular business hours (M-F 8:30 am to 5:00 pm), you can contact City Hall directly at 816-230-7755. After hours emergency numbers are Electric: 816-633-5521, Water: 816-633-4663, and General: 816-263-1354.

Where do I apply for utility service?

You must apply for utility service at City Hall, located at 125 S. 2nd Street in downtown Odessa, during regular business hours. You will need to complete an Utility Application with the service address and pay your deposit.

What is the deposit for utilities and why is it required?

The deposit is required to cover the last month’s utility bill. Your deposit will automatically be applied to your final bill. Any remaining deposit amount will be mailed to your forwarding address by check. The deposit required is $300 if you rent a property or $250 if you own a property.

How and where do I pay my utility bill?

You may pay your utility bill at City Hall with cash, check, or credit/debit card. To pay online, go to https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/odessamo. A drop box is available for after-hours payments at the front of the building or for your convenience a drive up box is available in the alley behind City Hall. Only City Hall employees may accept payment for utility bills. Please remember to include the bottom portion of your bill with your payment. You may also mail your payment to City Hall – just be sure to mail it so it is received by City Hall before the due date. We cannot be held responsible for non-delivery by the Post Office.

When is my trash pick-up day?

Trash service is included with municipal utilities. This service is provided by Republic Services. Their phone number is 816-254-1470, and their office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
