File a Complaint

The Odessa Police Department is committed to effectively, efficiently, and impartially resolving all complaints involving a community member’s expectation of fair and efficient police protection. We understand that there are a variety of things, from the issuance of a citation to an officer's demeanor, that can be disconcerting. In accordance with 590.502 RSMo, complaints against police officers must be received in writing. You may either download and complete this form and return it to the Odessa Police Department at 310 S First Street, Odessa, MO 64076. Or, you may complete and submit the online complaint form.

Complaints will be reviewed by the Chief of Police, unless the complaint is against the Chief of Police, in which case the complaint will be reviewed by the City Administrator. The reviewer will investigate the complaint, determine the disposition, and render disciplinary action, if any, within ninety (90) days of receipt of the complaint. By submitting a complaint, you may or may not receive the disposition results, as personnel records are confidential and not subject to disclosure without a subpoena or court order.
